With jobs becoming scarces, is it still possible for college freshman’s and sophomore’s to get a good paying job or internship over the summer to enhance ones skills or to gain experience such as in accounting, finance, etc?

I just changed my major over to hospitality and therefore I want to get a job this summer (non internship) just to get the feel of what it is like to work at a hotel. What kind of jobs and what would their descriptions be that I could apply for?

I’m currently in my junior year at Yale University, majoring in Economics. So yeah, basically I have no marketable skills.
I have no real job experience, although I worked at a law firm for 2 months, but I didn’t do much.
What jobs should I look at? So far I’ve been rejected to the 2 out of 2 I’ve applied to (courthouse internship and Yale Law School data coder.)
Should I try retail? (What’s weird is I’ve asked for a couple of retail applications, and they ask me about my music taste, a picture of me, etc.)
I really have no idea, but I do need to make some money this summer.

Hey all.
I’m a college student and I live on my campus and don’t have a car. It’s way far away from my home.
So when it’s time for me to get a summer job to earn my cash for school, what do I do?
What kinds of places will hire a college student who will only work for 3 months and then leave until winter intersession? I have a background as a cashier/beauty advisor ar Walgreen’s and I had an internship at a hospital last summer, so I’m at a loss as to what I can do!
Help, please!!

Hi,
I am a sophomore in college, majoring in marketing. I am currently looking for an internship for the summer in either Boston or NYC. If your company offers internships I would REALLY appreciate any information. If anyone has any ideas of where I could possibly work that would be great too. THANKS! …i know this is only yahooanswers, but it’s worth a shot right?

Hey all, I posted a similar question recently, but I wanted to add more information about myself so I get more feedback.
I’m a third year at Yale majoring in Economics. My ultimate goal is to go to law school to study corporate law. I need a summer job to make money too though.
So far I’ve applied to 2 law-related jobs; courthouse internship and Yale Law School data coding, but was rejected to both.
I’ve worked at a law firm for 2 months in the summer before, but that’s pretty much my job experience.
So any ideas? I’m having a hard time finding more law-related jobs/internships?

I may get this job as a cart-pusher for the summer. I just finished my freshman year of college and I was wondering, is this job considered pathetic for a college student? I mean, when I put this on my resume, will it look bad that I was doing this instead of an internship or something that is more respected?
It’s not like I wouldn’t do the job or that it’s too good for me, I just didn’t know if future employers are looking for more.
